Chic Low Ponytail

If time isn’t on your side, Kathryn Bernado’s simple yet chic ponytail will be your best bet. Aside from the fact that it’ll only take 5 to 10 minutes to create, you’ll also just need these three things: A hair serum, a curling iron, and a hair elastic!

The steps:

1. Prep your hair for heat styling by applying a heat protectant product from the mid-shaft to the ends. Try Eva NYC Get Glossed! Hair Serum, P899, for protected and radiant locks ala Teen Queen Kathryn.

2. Create soft waves by wrapping the lower half sections of your hair around the barrel of your curler and holding for around ten seconds. We love how the Eva NYC Tourmaline Clip-Free Curler, P3,099, is so easy to use!

3. Once done, gather hair at the nape of your neck with an elastic and shake out the ponytail a bit to give it a more relaxed feel.

Boho Side Braid

Is your hair thick and unruly? Then you’ve found your hairstyle match! Take your cue from Klea Pineda and embrace your hair’s natural volume with this look. Don’t worry about making it too perfect. The loose strands and the hefty, texturized braid adds a relaxed, more ethereal vibe.

The steps:

1. Blow-dry hair and comb the tangles away with a paddle brush as you’ll want a completely dry and knot-free mane when creating this look. Looking for a hardworking brush that you can use on wet and dry hair? Try the Wet Brush Watercolor – Orange, P899.

2. Deep-part hair to the side and loosely secure all of your hair over one shoulder with an elastic to create a low side ponytail. This will give you more control of your hair when braiding.

3. Weave a three-strand braid that’s tight at the top and loose at the ends. Once you’re finished, secure the end with a hair tie and then snip the top elastic.

4. Tug at your braids gently for an undone effect and tease the crown and sides of your hair to get a texturized finish.

Soft Beach Waves

A post shared by CHIE (@chiefilomeno) on

Yup, this gone-to-the-beach look works on dates and weddings, too, and the soft, piece-y waves are sure to give your date the butterflies! A key feature of this tousled ‘do is its texture, so don’t worry about the curls not looking too perfect and polished.

The steps:

1. Prep hair by applying a heat protectant product all over.

2. Using a curling iron, curl small sections of hair for the most natural results. Be sure to also vary the direction of the curls so that they don’t end up clumping together. But in case you don’t have a curling iron, you can also use a round brush to create waves—just wrap strands around the brush and blast with your blowdryer. For fast drying time and mega volume, try the Wet Brush Hi-Speed Round Brush – Pink, P1,099.

3. Finish by spritzing some texturizing spray like Eva NYC Surf’s Up! Texture Spray, P899, to give hair more body.

4. Loosen up the curls by combing through them with your fingers.

The Modern Bardot

Inspired by ’60s French icon Brigitte Bardot, this feminine and timeless half updo incorporates a lot of teasing, layers, and wispy bangs that gorgeously frame the face. Got no fringe? Simply pull out two face-framing sections in front for a look that’s oh-so-regal.

The steps:

1. Begin by misting damp or dry hair with a volumizing spray while giving it a good tousle with your fingers.

2. Divide hair into sections  and start curling them with your curling iron, all the way from the roots to the ends. You can also use a heated round brush, like the Eva NYC Healthy Heat Blowout Brush, P3,499, which features a 2-inch ceramic barrel—perfect for creating big curls.

3. Once you’ve achieved those bouncy curls, take the hair at your crown area and start teasing this section. Do this by combing the hair towards your scalp to bump up the volume.

4. Take the teased section at the top of your head and pull it toward the back, creating a poufy half-ponytail. Secure at the back of your head with bobby pins.

5. Pull out a few wispy pieces in front and finish off with hair spray.

Glam High Bun

When in doubt, you can always go for a quick and easy high bun, which can be both fancy and laid-back! This extremely versatile hairstyle is a great pick as it can go with just about any outfit.

The steps:

1. Prep the hair by combing it to remove any knots and tangles. Trade your go-to detangler for the Wet Brush Wet Comb, P349, which smoothens without snagging—whether hair is wet or dry.

2. Swoop all your hair up into a ponytail near the top of your head, and secure it with a hair tie.

3. Start twirling the ponytail around the base to create a bun and pin it in place. If you have thick hair, you might want to use a hair band around the bun for added grip.

4. Give your hair some grab by blasting a strong-hold hairspray all over.

5. Add a touch of romance by pulling a few pieces and letting it casuall frame your face—for a slightly disheveled but totally chic finish.
